Art Daze - Creative Freedom with Real Technique
There is an undeniable sense of joy that comes from creating something with one’s own hands. As teens create, they will develop a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment which will, in turn, give them confidence and self-assurance in other areas of life. Making art allows teens to express feelings and emotions that they can’t always express verbally. Their creations are extensions of themselves – how they think and what they feel. And as they are allowed to continue their creative journey, they can continually give voice to those inner thoughts which can be wonderful outlet and fill them with a sense of freedom.
As children become young teenagers, they begin to form their aesthetics. They gravitate toward a favored material and begin exceling at execution. At Follow Your Art, my purpose is to help find their artistic style and teach them how to achieve the visions in their imaginations! I tune into what sparks their passion and encourages them to pursue their talents. Teens will have the opportunity to expand their skills in watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, and sculpture!
Art encourages teens to discover which processes or techniques they like and don’t like, which mediums they enjoy, what inspires and motivates them and so much more! The creative journey is a continual – a journey of self-discovery. As teens approach new art ideas, they begin developing a sense of innovation that they can carry throughout their adult lives. They work hard, make mistakes, and learn how to overcome them and in the end, they have a work of art they can truly be proud of.
Teens can get just as stressed as we adults do. Slowing down to create allows them to pull away from the demands of their busy lives and rest their minds while their hands are busy. Letting go of the stress of schoolwork and countless other commitments and focusing on their creativity is a healthy way to decompress.
